PRAYER-PACK CHALLENGE part 1

 

In a quiet moment of reflection, please take some time to honestly answer the following questions:
1.      Do you pray? 
o   YES / NO
2.      What do you pray?
o   ABOUT NOTHING SPECIFICALLY / FOR YOURSELF / FOR OTHERS / FOR THIS CHURCH / FOR OUR PASTORS / FOR GOD’S WILL / FOR HEALING
3.      How do you pray?
o   SILENTLY IN YOUR HEAD / SILENTLY BUT SPOKEN INAUDIBLY / OUT LOUD / WRITTEN / IN A PRAYER LANGUAGE / GENERALLY ABOUT ANYTHING / SPECIFICALLY / FOLLOW SET PRAYERS / INTENSIVELY / INTENTIONALLY
4.      Would you like to be able to be a more effective pray-er?
o   YES / NO
5.      Would you like some help when it comes to prayer?
o   YES / NO

Whatever you answered to those questions, here are some ideas for you to try in the form of a …

PRAYER-PACK CHALLENGE instructions …
You need: a Bible, a notebook or paper, a pen and a quiet space
·         Spend a few minutes quietly without distraction turn off radio, TV, phone, computer etc.
·         Write a prayer of praise in a sentence. [e.g. Psalm 145]
o   Read it aloud
·         Write a prayer of thanks in a sentence. [e.g. 1 Chronicles 16:34]
o   Read it t aloud
·         Write a prayer of request / petition in a sentence. [e.g. Ps 86]
o   Read it t aloud – then give thanks for the answer
·         Write a prayer of confession in a sentence. [e.g. Ps 51 ]
o   Read it aloud – then give thanks for forgiveness
·         Write a paragraph prayer of praisethanksrequestconfessionpraise
o   Read it aloud [e.g. Luke 11:1-5 ]
Do this each day for a week. Then in the next week do the same, but with a special focus on someone else. Then in week 3, with a focus on our Church. Then in week 4, with a focus on our State / Country. If you would like to, consider sharing what you have written during this Prayer-Pack Challenge with another person. This way you can encourage each other.

Scripture tells us that we are to pray at all times about everything.
